What if I wanted to fight, beg for the rest of my life?

Sometimes listening and talking to Keng Xhik is like hearing my thoughts aloud and arguing or agreeing with them.

Everyone had always treated MBE as a medium to attain a higher level of playing skills in a band setting; but Keng Xhik and I didn’t think so, not anymore. Yes, we could learn from seniors about the works of the instruments, of preparing and presenting a song, of the technicalities required. But in truth, it is so much more.

It teaches us interaction, the art of getting things done efficiently through effective communication, besides forming new bonds between people you weren’t acquainted with before; it teaches us acceptance and tolerance, the alarm clock that wakes you up and makes you face reality that you wouldn’t always be able to work with people you like in the industry; it teaches us management and organization, the craft of setting priorities straight and sketching schedules for practices, on a personal level and band wise; it teaches us to be humble, because you could gain way more by ears than by your mouth and arrogant soloists are just a pain in their members’ asses.

If nothing else, at least we obtain useful people skills in these 7 semesters.
So don’t complain; learn.
Don’t quit; take it as a challenge.
Don’t be frustrated; just smile.
