Why this weekend totally sucks, though there's still tomorrow to make up for these 2 days:
1. I've just been through an agonizing, tormenting 2 weeks of Midterms. Well, to be exact, there were only 5 papers taken in the expanse of 5 almost-evenly-spread-out days out of the 10, with 3 of them handed back and, I dare say, the results are unspeakably horrible (at least to me). Thank God they'll be calculated into 30% instead of taking the original marks into account, or...or...hell knows what I'm going to do.
2. The whole house, right now, at this very moment, is so damn unnaturally, freakingly quiet, as in pin-drop quiet. I know I'm an introvert, but that doesn't make me hate noises. In fact, I LOVE noises, chattering of people, music blasting from radios or CD players, distant traffic cacophony or any daily sounds that proof that I'm actually LIVING in a TOWN and not some secluded, off-the-map meadow. Wait, even there would have some form of sound. Okay okay, I'm turning on some music, but it's still not as normal. I suppose the absence of my 2 uncanningly loud siblings and my mom explains this. Great, what a nice dual, me and my dad, the 2 non-talkative ones in the family stuck at home together. Not that it's a bad thing, I just don't like the house to be void of noises! The noisiest I can get is after 4.30pm, when my mom comes home coz both the younger Thams are getting high at their respective camps (my sis at an LAS Trolak Camp and my bro at his Olympic Maths Training Camp) until tomorrow evening. This sucks. I wonder why I've ever wished I was the only child.
3. I can't believe my sis and bro went ahead and watched 'Wanted' without me! And they promised to wait for me (I know I'm souding like some whiny child here, so please pardon me)! What's even unbelievable is, they didn't know the movie was rated till they were well on their way to the cinema, AFTER buying their bloody tickets with their freaking HIGH SCHOOL student ID! GAH!
4. I'm locked at home now, boring my brains out, when I'm supposed to be hanging out with you sexy people, catching up on everyone and getting intoxicated by my Java Chip Frappuccino at Starbucks. Don't get me wrong, I'm not blaming Lucy or Jing Hua for not being able to make it that I suggested to postpone to next week, which I'm praying that 6 out of 7 of us will be present, it's just that I think I'm evolving into some form of a social phariah and I desperately need you people to revive my sense of belonging. Nevermind, it's merely a week/7 days/168 hours till I see you guys, right?
This is so NOT how my only 3 days at home should be. Am waiting for a miracle to happen...someone? Anyone? Oh I'll just nag my parents to take me out to 1U or something.

Confession
I must confess, I am BEGINNING to settle in, though I’m not even sure whether relief is what I’m experiencing right now. For people with a high concentration of curiosity, I’m referring to my social life. Or lack thereof, until now that is.
I know, this sounds so surreal coming from me, especially my last post with all the happy-together photos. But before any of you jump to the conclusion of me being depressed or emo, which I’m not for that matter, I LOVE and ENJOY my academic life very much. I mean, this is what I’ve always wanted: no brain-grinding sciences, no infuriating maths, no bore-out-of-my-mind history (at least Malaysian Studies only lasts for a semester unless I fail it), just music every single day and almost every single subject. So, I’m usually rather happy and bubbly in class, until morning classes end and there comes the 5- or 6-hour break before our masterclass or my piano classes, during which I spend most of the time alone after lunch.
Not that I’ve never tried mingling around, it’s just that...they are NOT you guys. I suppose my prejudice can be blamed. For the past couple of weeks, I kept hoping to find someone who shares my passion for English novels like Amanda; someone who exchanges gossips (be it celebrities or our other college mates) with me like, well, almost all of you; someone who converses in perfectly fluent English with splashes of bombastic words or sarcasm like Eu Chern; or someone totally outspoken and confident like Joanna, that I think I must have shut myself from appreciating my new friends' good personalities. Perhaps the words 'missing you sexy people' could explain it.
The weird thing was, about 2 weeks ago, after mulling over my situation during the weekend (I practically felt more or less isolated), I woke up one morning and, to quote Lucy's phrase 'turn over a new leaf', started to look at everyone in a different way. Well, not entirely. It's still tough sometimes, not to compare them to you guys, but I'm getting to it I suppose.
Now, I think it's safe to say that my social life improved, slightly, and my delusional feeling of isolation by others lessen somehow, that I'm not talked to all the time was merely because I'm quiet. How typical me.
Anyway, enough of my morbid/emo/depressing/disturbing post. Here, the handbell ensemble performance at my college that I've promised to show you people. Sorry about the poor quality, I found them on Youtube, might have been recorded with a handphone for all I know.
Colours of the Wind
Chinese Medley
Just in case you're wondering how the handbells look like and how they're played, thought this video might quench your curiosity.

Photos. What everyone loves most.
Took my sis' camera to UCSI to toy around for a week. Thought that photos would do a better job in showing you guys what I couldn't describe very well in words.
Monday (2/6):
My hostel room, which is my current home for these couple of months till I get kicked out of it next semester. I wonder whether did my description do any justice to how my room actually looks like.
The piano room (120 m)that I booked for practising during my freetime, though nighttime isn't counted since the rooms are mostly empty so you don't need to book any one of them.
One of the rooms with a grand piano in it
Further proof of boredom. In case you didn't know, it was a dragon fruit.
Wednesday (4/6):
I was honestly awestruck by the handbell performance giving by the Woman's Choir Concert and Bell Ensemble who came all the way from Chicago. The handbells sounded nothing like how I imagined, which was the typically tinkling sound you would expect coming from a bell, but like the sound of chimes, magically soothing and indescribably melodious. I'll try to look up for videos to show it to you guys. Meanwhile, I'm introducing:
Me and Bi Ying, who plays the electric guitar and er hu (outside campus)
Eunice, Bi Ying and me
Me with Bi Ying's electric guitar
Me and Wen Dee
Bi Ying, Eunice, Phyllis, me, Wen Dee and Huay May
Me playing the Sarong Barong (please, someone correct me if I'm wrong)
Me and Wen Dee
Kneeling: Kevin, Ming, Bi Ying, Huay May, Eunice, me, Phyllis, Song Lin and Pik Ying
Sitting: Andrew, Emmanuel, Hui Yin and Wen Dee
Some little girl wandered over to our table and plonked herself down beside my cousin
Saturday (7/6):
Another Ying Hui and Amanda Day, with the both of us went to watch 'What Happens In Vegas' starring Ashton Kutcher, who was hawt, and Cameron Diaz. Very comedy and entertaining. But that wasn't the highlight of the day, oh no, it was Amanda driving me to 1U and back home! In her car! She definately drove better than me, as in not too near to the left side of the curb or driving in the wrong lane. Oh well, I guess I gotta practice more.

My hostel room, which is my current home for these couple of months till I get kicked out of it next semester. I wonder whether did my description do any justice to how my room actually looks like.
My bed, which, as I mentioned earlier, is on the right side.
The cabinet, with mine on the right.
All the food that are to be my breakfasts, lunches or tea time snacks on top of the shoe cupboard
Tuesday (3/6):
Did a little cam-whoring myself out of boredom, due to the ample 7 hours between my Malaysian Music and my individual piano class.

Just before choir that day, the few of us who were in Phyllis' room went cam-crazy:
Me, Eunice, Huay May and Bi Ying
All of us again
Went to University Malaya to play the traditional Malay Gamelan. Then, we went to have lunch at Wen Dee's mom's restaurant (Nihon Kai), which took us an hour to get there after losing our way and circling a certain area a couple of times, fruitlessly searching for the restaurant.
Bi Ying and me
Bi Ying, Phyllis, Ms Wong (our Malaysian Music lecturer), me and Song Lin
Us playing a short piece with the instruments with me on the Bonang
My lunch: Mixed Fried set dinner
Kneeling: Kevin, Ming, Bi Ying, Huay May, Eunice, me, Phyllis, Song Lin and Pik Ying

On Saturdays
Last last Saturday (25th May)
It was nice seeing Denise again, since the last time I saw her was more than a month ago, at the Anugerah Cemerlang. Awww...I miss my other Vegie Gang too: Amanda, Siu Jeen, Jing Lynn, Shi Ning, Xiao Chin, Vania, Denise and Shien Yin. Honestly guyz, we really need a huge get-together, one where ALL of us are present and not half.
Anyway, Amanda, Denise and I went to the book fest at KLCC last Saturday and it was our lucky day, or at least Amanda's, seeing that I'm not that big a fan of Zhang Dong Liang, though, I must admit, it was pretty exciting, having a celebrity more or less 2 feet away from you, even if he just swooshed by in a flash. Too bad he didn't entertain us by singing, merely standing on stage and blabbling non-stop about that electronic dictionary crap. Oh well, at least Amanda got some photos of him with my camera, which made her very high. Better still, she got a 40% discount for her books instead of the 20% stated! Cheers for Amanda!
Then, the 3 of us went for lunch (I swore I could hear an orchestra in my stomach) at Burger King, where we chatted and chatted till it was about 3.45pm when we had to leave coz my viola class was at 4.30pm.

P.S. Thank you so much, Denise, for the cute 'bookworm' you gave me!
Last Saturday (31st May)
Went to Marche at the Curve to have dinner there as a celebration: my bro got selected to represent MALAYSIA in the International Olympics Maths Competition in SPAIN! I'm so jealous. Obviously.
Yerp. My bro and sis at Marche. That maths freak.
Look! I got myself a new pair of shoes just for the upcoming field trip to University Malaya to play the traditional Malay Gamelan.
